Complete Generator Installation Solution
Generator installation is not just about placing the equipment and connecting cables. It is a complex process that requires proper site preparation, installation of all necessary additional equipment, integration of the generator with existing electrical installation and ensuring safe and reliable operation. Our team performs all these works professionally, quickly and with 1-year warranty.
We work with all types of generators – gasoline, diesel, inverter, single-phase and three-phase. We install both small portable generators and large stationary generator complexes for business facilities. Each project is unique, so before installation we always conduct detailed planning and prepare a technical project.
What Does Generator Installation Include?
1. Location Preparation
Before installing the generator, the installation location must be properly prepared:
- Foundation installation – concrete or paver base for the generator (important for heavy units)
- Vibration damping – anti-vibration mats reduce noise and vibration
- Ventilation – sufficient air flow for engine cooling is ensured
- Weather protection – canopy or closed room with ventilation
- Drainage – water drainage away from the generator
2. Generator Installation
The generator installation and fixation process:
- Generator transportation to installation location (heavy equipment requires special equipment)
- Accurate positioning and leveling
- Fastening to the foundation (if stationary)
- Installation of vibration dampers
3. Electrical Connection
Professional electrical connection installation:
- Generator cable – copper cable of appropriate cross-section
- Cable conduits – safe and orderly cable routing
- Fuses and protection – automatic switches for overload protection
- Grounding – essential for generator safety
- Connection to electrical panel – integration with home electrical system
ATS and ATD – Automatic Transfer Device
ATS (Automatic Transfer Switch) and ATD (Automatic Transfer Device, in Lithuanian: ARĮ) – is the same device, called by different names. In Lithuanian electrical projects and technical documentation the term ARĮ is used, in international standards – ATS. We install both types: single-phase and three-phase ATS/ARĮ devices, adapted for both residential and business facilities.
ATS / ATD types by purpose
- Single-phase ATS (1×230V) – for homes, apartments with a separate panel
- Three-phase ATS (3×400V) – for larger residences, farms, business facilities
- Modular ATS – installed directly into the existing electrical panel
- External ATS in a box – when there is no space in the panel or for stationary generators
- Automatic with remote control – controlled via phone or integrated with Shelly system
One of the most important components – the Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS):
How ATS Works?
- ATS constantly monitors grid power voltage
- When power goes out, ATS sends a signal to the generator
- Generator automatically starts (10-20 seconds)
- ATS switches the load from grid to generator
- When grid power returns, ATS switches back
- Generator continues running for 3-5 minutes for cooling then shuts down
ATS Installation Advantages
- No manual switching – everything happens automatically
- Quick response – power available within 30 seconds
- Safety – no possibility of mixing grid and generator power
- Convenience – works even when you're not home
- Protection – generator doesn't overload, automatically shuts down if problems occur
